BoDee's Fan Mail © 7/19/2003 Q- Dear BoDee , When my mother told me your full name was Boadicea Valentina, I laughed and laughed. It sounded sooo funny. No wonder you prefer BoDee. I would too. Have you ever thought of changing your name to just BoDee? Still Laughing, Funny Hollow, TX A- Dear Still Laughing, As I’m sure you know everybody’s name has a story. Both my DADDY and Mommy took a lot of time and thought when deciding on my name. They wanted me to have a name that reflected strength, justice, and love. Boadicea was the warrior queen of the Iceni. She went up against Romans ‘cause she loved her people and didn’t want them killed or enslaved. She was very famous for winning many battles against the Romans against great odds. I am proud to be named Boadicea and think it is very unique and special. How many pupples or people do you know that are named Boadicea? Mommy says that when I get older, I might even be able to go under one name, Boadicea, just like Madonna. As for my second name,Valentina, both my parents felt that because I had a brown heart on both my body and face, and was so sweet and loving and feminine, that this second name was just perfect for me. I think Valentina is a lovely name! Mommy and DADDY even had a formal christening for me, just like Simba had in The Lion King. Mommy raised me up high and said this puppy is named Boadicea Valentina. Jr. was my God Father. Of course my Mommy and DADDY just call me BoDee or Bo or sometimes Bo Bo. I am glad both my parents decided to give me both my names…except when they call me Boadicea Valentina in an angry tone ‘cause I’ve done something naughty. I’m sure now that you know the full story of my name, you can understand why I am so proud of it. Love ya, BoDee (Age 1 ½) Q- Dear BoDee, I really like gardening and hear you do too. I just wanted to know which part you liked best. I prefer getting down and dirty, and digging the holes. How about you? Digger, A- Dear Digger, I don’t mind getting dirty, but it’s not my favorite part of gardening. I do enjoy digging the holes. But my favorite part of gardening is eating the flowers, especially the hibiscus and the altheas. However, I find it’s best when helping with gardening, to leave the top flowers alone. That way everyone is happy with the pruning job you have done. Love Ya, BoDee (BoDee Age 2) Q- Dear BoDee, What’s with the big ears? Have you ever thought of having them clipped? Joy Depletion Love Lost, RI A- Dear Joy, I have been asked this question many times. I have also encountered a deep prejudice against big ears in this society, and have had my ears made fun of in many different ways. Some people are even cruel enough to call them Dumbo ears. But, you know what? I love my ears, and I like them pointy and up. I have tried them with 1 ear up and 1 down, sort of like Right now I am exploring washable tattoos. I am looking for just the right ones, so I can dress up my ears as well as my body, and do it in a coordinated fashion statement, just like Murphy recommended. You can’t do that with flop-down ears. Yeah, I love my ears and I’m proud of them, and they hear real good when they are up. So, on behalf of all big eared pupples and people (and you too Dumbo), I am thinking of starting my own Big Eared Club called TBBEC (The BoDee Big Eared Club). If any of you think this is a good idea, e-mail me at BoDee@TheBoDeeGirl.com. I’m thinking of including a BoDee Big Ears T-shirt, a copy of my new Newsletter, Ears Up, and an autographed photo of me that shows my ears up and to advantage, maybe with some fun tattoos. Love Always,
BoDee (Age 3)
