"In our business we hear far too many tragic stories where Mom or Dad have gotten laid off, and sadly are no longer able to afford to feed and care for their pets.” “ As a small business, we felt that we had to do something to help out where we could, so we decided a pet food donation program might offer a viable alternative for those pet owners who just need a little help.“ Starting May 1st, 2009, anyone who stops by The Velvet Snout and donates a new bag of pet food (unexpired and unopened) will be given a certificate for a free day of dog daycare as our way of saying thank you. The North Texas Food Bank has agreed to help get those donations to the people that need it. Velvet Snout Owner Laura Couch says “The Velvet Snout is going to run this program as long as there is a need for it.” “We really hope someday soon that there’s no longer a need, but for now, sadly, that’s just not the case.” WILLS POINT BECOMES BODEEFIED The Rocky Point Mayor and the Texas Highway Patrol apologized to local residents for the 5-mile-long traffic jam, which totally paralyzed Rocky Point and Hwy 47 for hours yesterday. For those few who didn’t know, the reason for the jam was because of a surprise visit by that internationally renowned canine actress, BODEE, star of the smash hits “Kung Foo BoDee” and “Bad Girl! Bad, Bad, Bad Girl!” Usually known as ‘The BoDee Girl’, she was in town for a surprise visit to relatives, and decided to take an anonymous tour of the neighborhood. However, she was quickly recognized. With this one little impromptu visit, BoDee captured the hearts of all who saw her. The town quickly became ‘BoDeefied’, as she made a host of new friends and fans, who were simply enchanted by her grace and charm. A few new fans remarked that it’s not often beauty is paired so nicely with such a sweet and loving disposition. BoDee’s aunt and uncle received the visit with mixed feelings. “While we are always happy to see BoDee”, said BoDee’s aunt, “her visits always cause so much commotion, they are a bit stressful. It always takes a few weeks to get the yard back in shape what with all the admiring neighbors crowding us in, while waiting for a chat or an autograph from BoDee.” BoDee’s uncle, the owner of Sweet Sarah and Jodie Bob, canine actors of some local note, suggested that the true acting talent in the family is his Sweet Sarah, and that many of her fans were beefing up the parade of people showing up to meet BoDee. However, when local residents were asked who they came to see yesterday, BoDee or Sweet Sarah, most answered, “Sweet Sarah who?” Once the hullabaloo settled down, the Mayor sheepishly admitted that he was a great fan of BoDee’s and asked for her autograph. BoDee’s publicist told reporters, off the record, that BoDee wanted to offer Sweet Sarah and Jodie Bob parts in her new touring play, “BoDee, The Musical”, when she learned they were currently out of work. The Mayor and the Highway Patrol requested that the next time BoDee visited Rocky Point, that they be warned in advance, so they can minimize the traffic problems. They also thanked BoDee for going out to the highway and chatting with her auto-bound fans and signing autographs. It really diffused a stressful situation. Bad Girl! Bad,Bad, Bad Girl! Sweeps The 10th Annual Canine Film Fest Awards!
BoDee, a talented upcoming ingenue, who everybody originally thought was miscast as Tina in the lead role of Bad Girl, stunned every one with her startingly mature and poignant portrayal of the troubled Valentina.
The Magnificent Murphy, one of her co-stars, indicated that no longer would BoDee be known as The BoDee Girl or even Boadicea Valentina. "With this award", said M2, "BoDee has become an American Icon, like Lassie, and will forever and lovingly be known as just BoDee."
